The Gun Crate

So, after having airsoft guns clutter my workspace forever, I decided to build a gun crate to house my armory, and to transport my stuff to and from the field.

So, I went to Lowe's. I bought some #2 white pine and I made up the balance from stock I already had in my house. I also bought some Rustoleum green camo paint and some 1-1/4 inch wood screws.

My first job when I got home was to cut the pine to length. I measured my KWA for the depth I would need and I cut the 8 pine boards down to length.

I was cutting by hand, without the aid of a bench saw, so some of the cuts were not exactly straight. This is ok, if accuracy is less important.

After this, it was straight assembly. I assembled the sides.

I took a picture with my KM4 inside for scale

I put the remaining sides on, and attached a lid. I had to improvise a lid out of some plywood because I cut the pine too short. I used some decorative hinges to close it

I then turned my work to the interior of the box, I screwed in slots to hold up the weapons in transit

Somewhere in there was a paint job

And that was after a few hours of work and a few beers
